VOICE ACTING PORTFOLIO

Not only can I mix, record, and produce audio clips, but I love to utilize my voice in them whenever I can! Here is a short collection of audio clips to which I have lent my voice. All of these were also mixed and edited by myself as well.

This is a playlist of various audio stories and audio dramas.

Mike Taylor - Thinking About You - In the course of creating a voice acting demo reel, I recorded myself reading Mike Taylor's poem "Thinking About You," which he performed for a poetry slam back in 2010 or 2011. I tried my hand at recording this amazing poem, and I recorded this with an AT-4050.

Robert Frost - The Road Not Taken - Same as the Mike Taylor poem, I recorded myself reading Robert Frost's poem, which is one of my favorites. This was also recorded in studio with an AT-4050.

DUCK Radio - This fun little project where I had to create a minute-long audio story all by myself. I chose to have a one-minute segment of a radio station, DUCK radio, complete with different news topics (duck-related) and a performance by an 'amateur acapella group.' I provided the voices for both hosts, as well as all five voices and the claps for the group that can be heard in the middle.

Who's On First (GNAPcast) - Seth B. and I have a podcast together, for which we record weekly episodes. Though I don't have any of the 20+ minute episodes here, I do have a mini episode we recorded, mostly for fun and to see if we could. (You can find the podcast at gnapcast.podbean.com and on YouTube.) I found a script for Abbott and Costello's amazing "Who's On First" sketch, and we tried our hand at recording it. We managed to record it at the pace you hear in the clip, though it took a few takes to get it that fast. This clip does not have the 20-second intro and explanation of the sketch that the actual mini-episode has - this is just the sketch.

Restaurant Sketch - Seth B. wrote a short script about a couple and a waiter in a restaurant, and we decided to record it with just the two of us. In this clip, I used the raw audio from when we recorded it - none of our vocal audio was cut, sped up, or moved around. From this starting point, I added in effects, processing, pans, music, and a few sound effects. This sketch is fun to hear because of how the original audio is modified, since our vocal recording is uncut. As such, both Seth and I record all the lines for the girl, the unfortunate guy, and the waiter.

Video Game Sketch - This was another short script that Seth wrote, just for fun. Seth B. and I were the two voices once again, and we recorded this skit with AT-4050's in studio (I find that I really like the sound of an AT-4050). Since this was recorded to showcase our voices specifically, I did not add any sound effects or music underneath.
